These late 19th century shops have seen many changes over the years. Forty plus years before this painting, in the late 1970s No.146 (the one on the left with an ornate gable) was known as the ‘The Workshop Shop’ when it was the headquarters of Bath Arts Workshop who did a lot to revitalise the area at the time.
